The material didn’t feel soft at first however, once I put them on, I realize how much stretch they have. They are a good fit. I could go up to a large if I wanted a looser fit, but I’m happy with how they fit. I’m 5’1” 175lbs, Thick thighs, butt, small waist. The length is fine as well. They are long, however, with a pair of sneakers or heels they are fine and they do have the drawstring if you want to turn them into joggers.
