I was told to size down but it was too tight. 5’6 150 lbs. I’m usually a medium but got a small.

The top is salvageable. It fits okay, the opening in the front is pretty wide, so I have to pull the strings and ruche it pretty tightly, much more tightly than the model, to get the same look (otherwise it just looks crazy; everything is out). Idk if it's because my bust is smaller; I'm a 34D. The collar is also not cut well, so it falls a little bit asymmetrically. The pants don't fit.... I can put them on, but I wouldn't wear them out; they are too tight and also too long (I am 5'6" with short-ish legs). They are also more low-waisted than I prefer. I do have thicker legs and wider hips compared to my upper body, but I have gotten two other pairs of size S pants from Fashion Nova before that fit perfectly, so it's a shame that this set didn't work out.
