I purchased this dress for my mother. She is between 5'6-5'7, about 250 and she carries most of her weight in her thighs and chest area but also has a bigger belly. I purchased this dress in a 2x because the reviews said it ran big and based on the style of dress, these usually ten to run big. The 2x fit my mom perfectly! This dress is a Kaftan style and those kinds of dresses will usually run bigger so you can down size. The colors of this dress are just as pictured. Very vibrant. The length for my mom being her height, came to the tops of her feet and didn't drag much so probably won't have to hem this. The dressy is roomy, light and flows lovely and easy to move in. It is not see through. This dress also has a light stretch to it as well. I am helping my mom give her wardrobe more style and color and different pieces and this is a great one. She is 74 so to me, this speaks to the different age ranges that fashionova can cater to. With FN you can always find something great to fit your needs.
