My normal size is XL but based on the reviews I sized up to IX. I'm only 5 feet so I had to altered the hem. Also, it was too much material at the top so I had it slightly altered in the area below the arm pits because I have a short torso. My tailor did an awesome job. The only think I didn't like was the blousy affect in the back, would look better if it was just smooth and flat other than that this is a beautiful dress and I wore to a formal dinner. Eyes were turning and I received quite a few compliments.
