The material is a little bit thin, but quite forgiving, so if you're between sizes, you should probably size down (although, the pants are more forgiving than the top). I would still call it true to size. The pants are too long on me by an inch or two, and I'm 5'6" with short-ish legs. Overall, a cute set.
