True to side and fits well. Only comment would be that they aren't shaped as "curvy" as I would expect for FashionNova. I say this because they are tight around the butt but have 1-2 inches of slack around the waist. However, this is the problem I have with almost all the pants I buy so I wouldn't mark down the rating just for that. They are well made and have decent amount of stretch. Coloring and distress are exactly as shown in images.
