The skirt is beautiful and the fabric is thin. So yes it is good for the summer. Normally I wear between a L and an XL depending on the fabric and the cut of the skirt. Most of my FN skirts are L and a few M and some XL. I was not sure how this one would fit based on the Non stretch fabric and there was only one review. My measurements are waist 27" hips 43". Am I glad I sized to an XL. I do believe the L would have been tight since the guide says 43 is the max in a L and I wanted a bit of space. I think it runs a bit small because while it fit, it was a more like 43.5 than 44 hip. Since I got the XL and can wear it lower in the hips it can touch the floor. I am 5'6". I gave it 5 stars because it looks fabulous and I was complemented by both males and females (ladies asked where I got it).
