I probably could have sized down, the fit is great and I love the way it hangs on my body, but with the open back it makes it a little bigger on me. They only had 2x in stock when I got it so that's what I bought. 1x probably would have been better. Just because of the sweater material I'd recommend sizing down for a perfect fit. Im 5'8" size 16/18 and 260lbs. Note, I was wearing shapewear when I tried it on and without the shapewear the 2x would probably be just fine since it has some extra room.
