I ordered a 7 bc reviews mentioned that the waist was tight and there was no stretch. The 7s were too big and the cut of the shorts were not flattering on me. I don't think I'd even try to size down. I'll prob have to find a different pair of shorts or brand. I'm 140 lbs- athletic body type
