I am 43" in the hips and 31" in the waist, I got these pants in a size L, the medium fit but were too short in length. The L was long enough, they lightly sweep the floor with cute flats as I think these pants should. With heels I think open toe sandal would be appropriate. I ordered a small in the matching kimono and set looks great.
